Isobutanol, also known as isobutyl alcohol or 2-methylpropan-1-ol, is an organic compound belonging to the alcohol group. It is a branched four-carbon alcohol used in chemical, technical and industrial applications as a solvent, intermediate and component of various formulations.
Due to its solvent properties, volatility and compatibility with many organic systems, isobutanol is used in coatings, paints, varnishes, fuel-related applications and organic synthesis.
