Description
TECHNICAL DICHLOROMETHANE
Other Names: Methylene chloride, DCM, dichloromethane, Diclone
CAS Number: 75-09-2
Chemical Formula: CH₂Cl₂
Molar Mass: 84.93 g/mol
Appearance: Colorless, volatile liquid with a sweet, chloroform-like odor
Technical dichloromethane is a chlorinated organic solvent with very good solvency properties. The product is characterized by high volatility, low boiling point and the ability to dissolve many organic substances. It is mainly used in technical processes, cleaning, degreasing, coating removal, extraction and as an auxiliary solvent in chemical processes. Technical grade is intended for applications where analytical-grade purity is not required.
