4.1 Description of first-aid measures
Eye Contact:
Immediately consult an ophthalmologist. Rinse eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, keeping eyelids wide open. Avoid a strong stream of water to prevent mechanical injury to the cornea (protect the unaffected eye).
Inhalation:
Move affected person to fresh air. If fumes are still present, the rescuer should wear appropriate respiratory protection. If breathing is irregular or has stopped, qualified personnel should administer artificial respiration or oxygen. In case of unconsciousness, place the person in the recovery position and seek medical help immediately.
Ingestion:
Move the person to fresh air. Keep them calm and warm. DO NOT induce vomiting. If the person is fully conscious, they should rinse their mouth with water and drink large amounts of water. Do not administer any acid-neutralizing agents.
Skin Contact:
Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with plenty of cool water. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.
Protection for First Aiders:
Do not attempt any action that may put you at risk unless you are properly trained. If fumes are still present, wear the appropriate respiratory protection. Ensure contaminated clothing is washed thoroughly with water before removal or wear gloves.
