Organic solvent from the glycol ether group. Thanks to its polar-nonpolar molecular structure, it dissolves both water-soluble and water-insoluble substances. It is widely used as a component of cleaning agents and pigments. The solvent 2-butoxyethanol is used in the paint, varnish and acrylic resin industries. 2-Butoxyethanol is used in surface degreasing agents in industrial and professional chemistry. It is used as an ingredient in alkaline foam car wash formulations. In professional chemistry, it is used in concentrates for cleaning glass surfaces. It is used as an ingredient in products for removing residues and soiling from polymer dispersions. It is used in products for removing soiling in garages, print shops, construction sites. It is approved as a food additive and is used in biocides, anti-foaming agents and stabilisers. It is also used as an anti-coagulation ingredient. It is also known to be used as a reagent in synthesis processes.
