Triethylamine is a tertiary aliphatic amine widely used in the chemical industry as a base and catalyst. Due to its nucleophilicity and basicity, it serves in numerous organic synthesis reactions including alkylation and acylation.
Applications
Catalysis and Synthesis: Used as a base catalyst in esterification, amidation, and condensation reactions.
Polymer Industry: Employed in the preparation of quaternary ammonium compounds and as a neutralizer in coatings and resins.
