Oil macerates are highly concentrated oil-based extracts obtained through prolonged, controlled infusion of plant materials, such as flowers, leaves, or herbs, in carrier oils with high oxidative stability, such as sunflower, jojoba, or almond oil. During the process, which can last from several days to weeks, lipophilic bioactive plant compounds, including flavonoids, carotenoids, and fat-soluble vitamins, diffuse into the oil, creating an extract with a high content of active constituents.
